JoPACC and JOIN Successfully Conclude the Second University Edition of Fintech Rally 2025 with Participation from 11 Jordanian Universities

Under the patronage of Dr. Khaldoun Alwshah, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, as well as representatives from the sponsoring banks of JOIN Fincubator: the Jordan Kuwait Bank, the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, and Capital Bank; along with other distinguished guests, JOIN Fincubator, operated by the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC), successfully concluded the second edition of Fintech Rally 2025: Universities Edition, following the success of the first edition which was the first national university-level hackathon in the Kingdom titled: Fintech Rally University Edition2024 organized as part of the Future Fintech Disruptors initiative launched by JOIN Fincubator. This national initiative aims at supporting and empowering university students in the field of Financial Technology (FinTech).

This year’s competition witnessed broad participation, with 150 students forming 30 teams from 11 Jordanian universities across various governorates. The goal was to develop new financial services in the domains of Open Banking and Open Finance.

Participants underwent an intensive series of training workshops and preparatory sessions, along with the opportunity to engage with a sandbox environment simulating the Jordan Open Finance Standards. These activities are aimed at educating students on FinTech and open financial services and applications, preparing them to compete effectively.

The competition was held over three days, during which participants worked on enhancing existing financial services or creating innovative new solutions. The event concluded on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with finalist teams presenting their projects before a judging panel composed of leading experts and FinTech leaders from the Jordanian Financial sector.

The panel evaluated the projects and selected the winning teams, with five teams from various universities securing top positions, including students from The University of Jordan, the German Jordanian University, Applied Science University, and Al-Ahliyya Amman University.

This initiative aimed to foster innovation and practical skills among university students by engaging them with real-world challenges derived from the Jordanian financial sector.

Fintech Rally 2025 is part of JoPACC and JOIN’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between higher education outcomes and market needs. It also aims to enhance the capabilities of Jordanian youth in keeping pace with global trends in the financial sector through practical experiences and strategic partnerships.
